A Golden Discovery
After
serving as a Peace Corp Volunteer in Cameroon, West
Africa, Sharon Moore returned to the village where
she had lived and continued with her interest and
study of medicinal botanicals. Spending an
additional nine years in various regions of West
Africa she observed many methods of traditional
healing. Living among the various tribes, she
grew to have an enormous respect for the healing
arts.
While
traveling in a remote region near Central African
Republic, Sharon came into a village to find a
botanical specimen requested by a researcher in the
U.S. After dropping from a bush taxi, Sharon
approached several women who were roasting fish for
sale at the roadside to inquire about a place to stay
over night. Communication was highly
unsuccessful, as they didn't speak French or
Pidgin. Little did she know she was about to

Imagine
coming upon a village where the elderly women had
