Is all shea butter the same?
We at Karite Gold® would like to mention, most shea butter on the market is produced using any
water which can be river water, swamp water or whatever is available. It is then
stored in large calabash gourds, left in warehouses or to theair in the marketplace
with insects and rodents who love nibbling at it, not to mention leaving their own
personal calling cards.
Now that you have the picture, I'm sure you can understand why I
insist on going to the villages personally, overseeing the whole process and do my own
purchasing. I choose only those few villages which use sanitary piped water whose
shea butter is produced for us personally. Even before it is entirely cooled, it is poured
into our new sanitary containers and immediately sealed. It is notd until we
formulate Karite Gold® in
our facility. The cleanest shea butter and quality essential oils are what form
Karite Gold®, with assurance
of the finest product.
I may add when you see "refined shea butter" most has been
processed with harsh chemicals to bleach and deodorize it. Some people thinking they
are getting a "natural product" are unknowingly putting shea butter on their
face and body which has been processed with chemicals. I was glad to be personally
educated on this subject and believe others will appreciate it as well.
Shea butter does have a slight fragrance not unlike cocoa
butter. Without use of chemicals, Karite Gold's® shea butter has a pleasing fragrance and the shelf life is years. The
dirty Grey color of some shea butter on the market is Grey simply because it was cooked
with dirty water and has a shelf life of only months.
Our goal is not to create waves on this subject, but simply to
educate those who are interested.

Enjoy!
